Why is the โ€œtear hereโ€ part of a bag / package / box always the strongest part?

@kylebot Especially on bags of coffee beans.

@pimoore in which case it will tear perpendicularly to the intended path in an explosive way

@kylebot Funny you mention this, as a couple of times it tore downward and took out the clip to tie the bag closed. ๐Ÿ˜‚ Luckily I store my beans in a canister so no harm no foul. Normally I use scissors, but they were dirty at the time, and coffee was calling.

@pimoore always seems like the more you want (or need, Iโ€™m not judging) the coffee, the more extreme the deviation from expected opening path is. ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ Auxiliary coffee storage is key.

@kylebot Also the more extreme the cursing when said deviation takes place. ๐Ÿ˜†

@pimoore of course! Just like the more / more intensely you curse while untangling a wire, the more tangled it becomes. Itโ€™s science ๐Ÿง‘โ€๐Ÿ”ฌ
