@csilverman Hi Chris! Thanks for backing the Kickstarter. A lot has changed in the four years since launch. You might be interested in this page we put together with tips for using Micro.blog and some specific ways it's different from Twitter. welcome.micro.blog
@jean Thanks, Jean! I'll take a look at it. I was actually about to contact you—I sent a message to @help earlier, but that post seems to have vanished.
I'm having a lot of trouble switching themes. Sometimes it works, and mostly it doesn’t; if I select a different theme and save settings, nothing happens, but in a few cases, the new theme was activated a few minutes later. I'm trying to switch to the Blank theme, but so far I haven't been able to do that. Is this a bug or something?
@csilverman Sorry for the frustration. The best thing to do is email @help (help@micro.blog), because it sounds more complicated than a short timeline answer. It’s not a bug I’m familiar with. The email will give Manton a chance to look into it.
@csilverman in my experience it can take a several minutes before theme changes are active.
@csilverman Theme changes can take a little longer... That's something I'd like to improve. Also, the "blank" theme is designed for building a custom theme from scratch, so it's not functional by itself. It only contains a few templates for things like feeds, but no home page.
@khurtwilliams Ah. Good to know, thank you. Occurred to me that these sites have to be regenerated following changes, so it probably isn't instantaneous.
@help I see. Thank you. I’d actually wanted to enable it so I could build a custom theme; I assumed “blank” contained markup without styling, so I could work on the styling in the inspector.
Might help to clarify in the admin area that this theme can't actually be activated, since right now it looks like any other theme.
