After Google Reader, folks asked me about building an open API for feed syncing, given my history with Tweet Marker. I didn’t work on it because I wanted to focus on indie microblogging. But it was inevitable that eventually Micro.blog would have something. Like Apple having both Pages and Numbers.

@manton Does this mean you’re working on timeline position syncing⁉️ 👀

@jarrod Sadly no! We do have all the plumbing for timeline syncing in the API now. Need to figure out how best to actually implement it in the clients.

@manton @crossingthethreshold will it have its own API? I wanted to build something, but I would hold off if I can later make the MicroBlog command line feed reader…lol

@timapple It will have its own API and also work with the Feedbin API as an option. But don’t let me stop you building something!

@manton I’m building my own RSS reader a la Tapestry for a much simpler, web-only app to consume RSS feed as a river flow… all with Claude Code….

@numericcitizen Cool! It’s fascinating that a lot of people seem to be building RSS readers. Perhaps most popular readers are too similar and we need new takes.
