Wow, this post diving into Micro.blog bookmarks and highlights is amazing. Thanks Loura! I’ve bookmarked it in Micro.blog (of course) so I can sift through it later to see what we can improve in Micro.blog’s API.

@manton I’ve just bookmarked it myself to see what I am missing in these features. I currently use the bookmarks RSS feed to create a Read Later service in NetNewsWire. The only annoying thing is the two feeds created for each bookmark. I always have to mark the first as unread. Why is that one created?

@crossingthethreshold Basically the extra one is for the full content of the archived post. I’m pretty sure I’m going to combine them in a future update, though.

@manton That would be great. Though I now have a muscle memory routine each time that I open up Bookmarks in NNW to delete the “extra” entries so that I just have the text to read.

@manton Thanks! Let me know if I can clarify anything in how I approached/used the API. The documentation you provided was straight forward and it wasn't until I decided to implement my own reader/highlighter functionality that things got fuzzy. Once again, thank you for having an API available to use 😄

@heyloura Most of the stuff sailed above my head but are you creating some kinda web app for Micro.blog bookmarks? @manton

@pratik I'm more playing around with what's possible. Some of what I blogged here is already in Lillihub under bookmarks (but be warned, the page will be slow if you have a ton). Not the custom reader/highlight portion yet since I still have some more bugs to work out.

@heyloura Ok. Somehow, I thought it was a dedicated app just for bookmarks and from where you could blog (link blog). The UI looked different.
