I enjoy reading Ben Thompson’s Stratechery every day, and I’m always nodding along, but I think his take on Meta and content moderation is off the mark. The web is the open platform where nearly any speech is allowed. Platforms need to tread more carefully because of their power to influence.

@manton.org I don’t subscribe (limited subscription bucks/year) even though I think he’s very bright. Generally speaking, what was his take?

@combatdavey Hard for me to summarize without putting words in his mouth, but generally he thinks the Meta change is good, and that they went too far moderating content around (for example) Covid.
