Moved to a new host today and my web site address is defaulting to “www.” at the start of the url. This is causing problems with some Wordpress plugins. I’m not very experienced with these things but if I delete the CNAME record for www will it fix this? Is there a better and safer way?

@stefp What is the address under Settings > General? Is that WWW or is it just that DNS is routing to it? If so is there anywhere in your hosting to set the default/desired?

@stefp Scratch that last question. A complete backup restore seems to have sorted out the problems. Replying to myself because I don’t want this posting to my microblog :)

@colinwalker It seems to have sorted itself. I was having trouble with Wordpress Vaultpress because it thought it was a new site.

@stefp Maybe just DNS propagating.

@colinwalker The Wordpress setting was set to www. Removed that and everything is back to normal.
