@manton Should we change anything if we already got Bsky working with our micro.blog domain?
@manton It took me a while to find my way but I made the change. Thank you. I appreciate the way you keep adding features to micro.blog.
@manton does that work for subdomains too? Because I tried for my microblog at blog.alomran.me and got an error BlueSky error message: “External handle did not resolve to DID”
@ahmed Are you trying to set your Bluesky username to the full subdomain, or just the root domain? It will work for subdomains. That's actually how I tested it.
@manton entering my bluesky password on micro.blog felt a little sketchy-- does that just avoid some copy-and-paste?
@manton Can you use a different domain on Bluesky that you have on Micro.blog? Or does it have to be the same?
@pratik To use this feature, it has to be the same domain name. Otherwise you’ll have to set things up manually with the Bluesky instructions.
@rossk We don’t keep the password, but I highly recommend going to Bluesky and creating an app-specific password to use in Micro.blog.
@abc I figured it out. I was changing the domain to login when all I needed to change was my user name. I hope this helps someone.
@manton Any chance this broke cross-posting? Because today it didn't work. I refreshed the login, but no luck.
@manton Oh, I found the new cross-post buttons, so I'm up-to-date, will check the automatic tomorrow.
@cliffordbeshers Should be unrelated, except that if you changed your handle on Bluesky, it wouldn't surprise me if that invalidated any existing sessions. By refresh, you mean you disabled Bluesky cross-posting and signed back in? I'd expect that to fix it.
@manton Yes, I logged back in. Handle did not change, but perhaps they tweaked something as they opened that effectively did the same thing?
@manton I originally had issues with the root domain and wanted to try the subdomain, but it looks like I have managed to fix it. Thanks!
@manton Automatic cross-post worked today.
