@cliffordbeshers @jean šŸ‘ I love how you write a short program to help you reason. That's something I do as well. Another date trivia: three different calendar dates can be observed simultaneously for a couple of hours each day.

@cliffordbeshers I was surprised by the answer too and my initial thought was 36 hours

@cliffordbeshers As the kids say, TIL. Thanks. Now I know itā€™s even more confusing than I realized.

@pratik Good to know. I felt a bit silly, and yet it still feels like the right answer.

@sod Thanks. I do a lot of little programming, but the blogging tools don't flow for me, yet.

@cliffordbeshers It's one of those things that if I think too hard, I confuse myself. I am proud of myself from learning from the first challenge that starting on November 1 (in Portland) is wrong.

I started to describe how I put out two @challenges posts a day, one a reminder that also previews the next day's word (so people who are already on the next day can see that), and how I calculated the times for those (noon and 8 pm Pacific) with some references to Day X and Day X+1, but my brain got it convoluted, proving my point that I can confuse myself. I think the posts at these times cover all our bases, time zone-wise, but I am open to suggestions for improvement!

@jean On reflection, I think it will always be confusing to someone. I bookmark each challenge I am going to participate in, because I am never sure how to find the info in my timeline (see micro monday podcastā€¦lol).

I would say that a link per challenge on the main page to a wee dashboard that told the upcoming prompts and how long you have in your own timezoneā€¦well, that might cost a bit to develop, but think of the relief of suffering it would bring. If you could fill in the start and stop date, prompts, etc., and the. A machine took care of the rest, you could sleep, we couldnā€™t have to google the next term, and some brave soul could say thwy solved the scheduling problem.

@cliffordbeshers @jean Iā€™ve added the @challenges feed under a menu item on my blog to alleviate this.

@cliffordbeshers Flying back and forth across the continent is not helping me either. šŸ™ƒ I love the idea of a Challenges dashboard.

And even though this turned out to be a challenging month to run a challenge, I think it does help new folks get a feel for who is here and how we do things.
