@cleverdevil what is your theme on your website?

@iamJeffPerry I use a CMS called Known - github.com/idno/Know... - But I recommend WordPress for most people, since its got a larger community.

@cleverdevil @manton I am still trying to wrap my head around a decentralized internet. It sounds great but I can't see this being anythying other than a fringe community.

@iamJeffPerry and fringe community is fine, as long as it provides people who want to, tools to break a little free of the internet behemoths. Isn't it somewhat wonderful that you've been able to get started on indieweb with the limited coding knowledge you have? :)

@nitinkhanna True, but is it incentive enough to be free from the "internet behemoths" for others to join and really change how we see the internet?

@JeffPerry some will turn, slowly... For others, people come out with these little ways which tend to capture just enough market to bring change. I'm talking about micro.blog, mastodon, and withKnown, of course...

@JeffPerry yes, as I'm doing now - add an RSS feed that micro.blog will look at and show your posts on the main site (my posts show on micro.blog/nitinkhanna but not on nitinkhanna.micro.blog). Easiest way to do this is with a wordpress or withKnown blog.

@JeffPerry the idea is that you're paying $5 for hosting your blog on @manton's service. If you just host it elsewhere, you end up not paying for it. The social network aspect (chatting with folks) of it is free.

@JeffPerry @cleverdevil Some very large networks have started as fringe communities. :-) Baby steps. And the community is just one part; equally important is encouraging indie blogs.
