We really loved Mary Poppins Returns and Into the Spider-Verse. This Spider-Man is stunning — my favorite Marvel adaptation. And don’t miss the blog post about Mary Poppins from Floyd Norman, who worked on the original film 54 years ago.
@manton our family watched both over the holiday break and really enjoyed them as well. Spider-Verse was stunningly good! I’m not convinced that Mary Poppins Returns will becomes a classic like the original, but definitely agree that it was a worthy follow up.
@cleverdevil Yep, I don't think it needed to be a classic as long as it was faithful to the original and enjoyable. We also re-watched Saving Mr. Banks last week, which kind of completes the films as a trilogy.
@manton I haven’t seen the movie Mary Poppins Returns, but I enjoyed watching a video where they talked to Dick Van Dyke who commented to his make up artist. “You realize you are putting makeup on a 91 year old man to make him look like a 91 year old man” It is a movie I want to see, but not sure I will be able to see it in a theater.
