@isaacgreene And re: Grapes of Wrath, the story is devastating, but on top of it Steinbeck’s writing… wow. His short interstitial chapter about the decay of an abandoned house could stand alone.

@cjhubbs Charley would be a great palette cleanser. Packed with beautiful observational writing, but without the devastation. Perfect paragraphs just flow through it.
