@christopherchelpka I realize this isn’t helpful, but when I read your question all I could imagine was Zuckerberg laughing uproariously.
I hope there is a way.
@christopherchelpka I am not aware of an easy way (and possibly the people at FB don't want there to be), but the data you can download from FB does have a timeline.htm
which has all your posts with dates. But then it also has the posts others made to your timeline with no way to separate them from your posts.
So looks tricky, but would be good to know if there is.
@christopherchelpka It's not easy yet, but @cleverdevil has a script called ditchbook that can migrate Facebook data to Micro.blog and does preserve dates. I've wondered if we should hook into it in the future to make migrating photos easier.
@christopherchelpka Oh sorry, I meant it more like a "people are working on this" answer. 🙂 More tools for import/export would be good.
@nathanrhale You bet!
@manton @christopherchelpka yes, ditchbook is currently pretty much targeted to users who are extremely comfortable with the command line. I’d love to make it more user friendly, but just haven’t chosen to make it a priority to this point. Happy to help however I can, of course 😉
@nathanrhale I’ve decided that many of my FB posts are not worth saving. And since I don’t have an overwhelming amount, I’m just going to collect the good stuff and repost one at a time.
