@manton this has me interested in webmentions... is there some simple microformats I can add whenever I add a link to a post to send a webmention? Seems like a good candidate for a plug-in with a shortcode. Also would be cool to use MarsEdit’s link field for a post...
@jsonbecker Yes, this is part of what I wanted to document in that post but I don't think I made it clear... If you add a u-in-reply-to
class to any link, Micro.blog will now send a Webmention for it. (Doesn't need to be a RSVP.)
@manton awesome! The indieweb wiki was more focused on developing the part where you actually send/recieve and I realized this must be a m.b implementation question. I think I’ll write a quick plugin-in/shortcode for this over the weekend. Would be great to explicitly send + get a class for “mention” in case someone wants to do something to separately select for design.
@manton Nice, will it also work if we include a link in the "reply to" field in say Quill? It will completely simplify the workflow for reply posts. And might open up ways for other post actions, for example like etc.
@manton I’m a little confused. I guess I expected your RSVP to show up on Indie Web Camp Page. Should it?
@christopherchelpka Yes, it shows up on the event page here: events.indieweb.org/2021/05/w...
@amit I need to review how Micro.blog handles replies from Quill. I think it only works if the post you're replying to is something that Micro.blog has seen already. Seems like this could be expanded.
@amit I've fixed this now, so basic in-reply-to from Quill will work. I'll likely continue to tweak this.
@manton brilliant, thought that such tweak would be possible. Thank you for getting it included so quickly. Also means that there's no need for the markdown in the post anymore, I guess? As webmention will be sent to the link in the in-reply-to field?
