Acrobat Pro subscriptions going from $25/month to $30/month. I hate to complain about subscriptions, but this might be a little too much for the only thing I use it for: File → Export for my book PDF. Adobe’s gotta cover their Figma acquisition cost somehow.

@manton I still run Acrobat IX in Wine (Crossover).

@manton I recommend the alternative: Affinity. Designer, Photo and Publisher, switched years ago for design / photo : book publish needs.

@manton glad to help! Published many brochures with it, the UI is intuitive and extremely similar to InDesign. Also love their pricing, which is a non-subscription way.

@alexandru @manton Yes, I would second this recommendation! All of the Affinity apps are excellent and agreed on the pricing model. They are a bargain.

@cdevroe For the print-on-demand company, I needed some specific PDF settings. Apple's Preview didn't seem to cut it.

@manton I'm surprised no one has built a PDF competitor to escape the licensing issues.
