@decarbonization I remember driving GEOS using my joystick when I was a kid; thinking it was cooler than any game.
@canion it’s definitely one of the coolest bits of software on the platform – did you get it bundled with a C64c?
@gerwitz I bought BeOS as well. It was so cool, and I was mightily disappointed when it didn’t work out. It was pre-emotive multitasking that was its claim to fame, right? I remember it was very efficient. Awesome window tabs too.
@canion preemptive multitasking all the way through the window manager, I think. And an OO GUI library.

@canion preemotive is a level of sophistication we haven’t quite reached in desktop OSes, yet.
