With YNAB leaning into a new branding of Yet Another Price Increase or YAPI™, I’m trialing Actual Budget running on PikaPods. Early in my testing, but this could be good enough. Being in Australia I don’t get any of the fancy YNAB automation anyway.

@canion Got an email from YNAB and disappointed with the YAPI 😋. Reddit was flooded with recommendations for Actual Budget but they seems to have stopped new sign-ups. Do you have an invite for me, please?

@ridwan I’ve set up a self-hosted instance on PikaPods. Putting them up against each other.

@canion Is it an easy setup? I don’t have much knowledge on self-hosting.

@canion curious if it works with open banking with Australian banks?

@canion As someone that doesn’t use bank connections anyhow, I’m debating whether another buck a month is worth changing from YNAB. There’s an eventual breaking point, and I’m not sure if this is it.

Lunch Money seems like an interesting option for those that don’t want to self-host.
