@manton Wonder how possible it is to use something like a search engine API to get tweets? bc twitter will still give a broader API access to DDG/Brave for indexing posts… if they can filter by date range this could also work? just stops you from relying on smth that OpenAI might deprecate..?

@j4ck.xyz It’s a great question. And perhaps OpenAI is effectively using a search engine to power this too.

@manton look at Digg which has relaunched (again!) to be focused (for now) on AI-related news shared on X. Think of Digg as a sophisticated X front end ripe for a potential take over by Musk.

@numericcitizen Checking it out now. I had been ignoring Digg. Too bad they don’t have RSS feeds.

@manton I’m curious to read your thoughts here…

@manton I mean I’d imagine so tbh, the results come up under the “web search” results, I feel like it’d be a lot of effort to make a custom tool for each social media platform..

@manton If a thing has no RSS feed(s) then that thing is dead to me!

@manton There are some alternative frontends for X that provide RSS feeds, like xcancel.com. I follow a few people that way, and it works pretty well.

@sod Oh nice, I didn’t realize XCancel had feeds!

@manton Looks good. Are you reading these summaries in ChatGPT? I’ve experimented with scheduled prompts to do something similar and the problem I have is that I’m not in ChatGPT often enough to catch up on them. Having them sent to my RSS reader would be perfect. Have you considered doing something similar? Say, as a private RSS feed?

@lmika I’m in Codex a lot, so it has been fine, but routing them into a private RSS feed makes sense. I’m sure ChatGPT “Sites” could create and host the RSS feed directly… I’ve never tried mixing scheduled tasks and sites, though.

@manton I love this and I want a way to pull it in via RSS.
