Got sucked into a debate in a community forum about a book with a transgender protagonist being available for kids to read in schools. People are remarkably shitty at the moment.

@cleverdevil sometimes it takes hearing something from people around you and a part of your community a thousand times to create a small fissure of doubt to open thinking on issues that feel core to your moral beliefs. It’s exhausting, but you did a good thing, and maybe moved someone more than you know.

@jsonbecker patiently listening and providing responses that aren’t interpreted as attacks is tiring, but worth it. I totally agree.
