doevery.day now has a cheering feature for log entries. Cheer on your friends. Be cheered by your friends. All in the privacy of your own space – the rest of the world will not see how many cheers your log entries receive. The cheers are just for you to enjoy.

@bjhess Interesting choice!

Meanwhile, yesterday I decided intentional not to practice guitar because I think my finger tips need a break. Streaks! They are great until they encourage you to injure yourself. 🖐😫

@jean ah, callus formation. I need to build do every other day to make this a good fit for callus formation!

We’ll certainly do more with cheers, and maybe we’ll change course at some point, but we don’t love the anxiety of likes. And we do enjoy encouragement. We’ll see how this feels.

@jean You're inspiring me to get back at it! For me, anyway... I do better getting past that callus-forming stage when I practice for 5-10 minutes several times a day, instead of for 20-minute or longer sessions. Finger tips get strong without ever getting painful.
