Today, while my sore throat morphs into a cough, I’m resting up, mainly reading, dozing and answering urgent last minute calls from our lawyer about the house we’re selling. 🤞🏼

@odd Thanks. The sale was declared ‘unconditional’ yesterday (which means it’s gone through). Settlement is in 2 weeks. Once the money’s in the bank then we can be sure it’s really done.

@Miraz are you moving, or is that another house?

@dejus 7 years ago when we left Wellington we bought a second house at Ōtaki that we rented out. It’s that second house we’ve just sold. Retirement savings…

@Miraz aha. Good plan. Sometimes I wish we had done that when we started the RV lifestyle, but we opted to get a nicer motorhome instead. Not exactly the most sensible choice.

@dejus The crazy housing market here has made us a very tidy profit. I feel good though that we offered high-quality rental housing at a modest price to folks who needed it. Tried hard to be good landladies (hmmm — we need a gender neutral term for that role).

@billbennettnz My 2 tests so far have been negative but I’ll test again tomorrow. Meanwhile I’m actually pretty sick — my days consist of read, nap, pee, cough, have a cuppa, repeat, with occasional reluctant bites of food.

@billbennettnz Plus, my brain power is at about 5%, give or take a couple of percentage points.

@Miraz I’m no doctor, but I’m certain I had Covid last year even though every test I did was negative. Whatever you do have… take care… I look forward to see more of your wonderful photos when you are back outdoors.

@Miraz nice. Yeah, if we ever move back to NZ (and yes, that’s something we’re considering) we may find it hard to find a place we can afford.

@billbennettnz I’ve just been looking at authoritative web pages that compare Cold, Flu and Covid symptoms and my conclusion is: I’ve definitely been really sick. I’ll do another RAT test today. I seem to be on the mend now, thank goodness.

@dejus Prices are still dropping. We sold for $200,000 less than the identical place over the road that sold 18 months ago.
