Last week’s Sharp Tech about data centers is really good. Misinformation, the lost opportunity with nuclear power, and SpaceX craziness.

The most compelling point: it’s possible that the demand for intelligence has almost no limit. If so, a lot of the insane scale starts to sound reasonable.

@manton I mean, they’re preaching to the choir, not to “normies.” But if they and people like them don’t learn to take our concerns seriously and respond with evidence rather than mockery, things could go very wrong for the Big Tech companies.

@ayjay That’s related to a point Ben Thompson has been trying to make, that it’s not going to go well if tech folks just say “you’re wrong, it doesn’t use that much water after all”… Honestly I have been worried for a while about how bad the division could get.
