@ayjay I got one years ago and it has been dormant. After reading @manton’s latest blog post, it struck me more than ever that Mastodon made some bad/imitative design choices and encoded those choices into their API. Unfortunate for the ActivityPub network.

@ayjay @dancohen Initially I thought this was a little on the pessimistic side, even though I too have no interest in Mastodon for personal use. However, they now appear to be in full Twitter cloning mode with the addition of quote-posting and I am thankful to not have not invested anything personal into that system.
