Although I have a ton of thoughts about the iPad not being a Mac, this keyboard by Brydge really appeals. Mainly for times when travelling with both a laptop and iPad make no sense. Bonus, according to Snell the combination weighs less than an equivalent Macbook Pro.

@kaa I use an Apple wireless keyboard with my (non-pro) iPad. I prefer a keyboard that isn’t attached, so I can keep the iPad in portrait orientation. Yes, I know that means I can’t multitask, but I rarely want to multitask while I’m using the hardware keyboard.

@artkavanagh totally agree if I intended to use my iPad as a writing machine. Thing is, the iPad can do that just fine but it’s not where it shines on a totally Apple sort of way. The iPad shines with the pencil.

As a writing machine it’s a great machine but I feel the best writing experience is found on a Mac.

The only time I think I would use a keyboard with he iPad is when traveling as a way to reduce the amount I lugged with me. I have considered getting an Apple keyboard, but it’s not in the colour I want (totally superficial I know) and it would hardly get used. I use my 5 year old MacBook Pro for that.

@kaa Yes, my keyboard doesn't match the (gold) iPad (I previously used it with a space grey iPad Air 2) but I seem to have stopped noticing!
