Snow! SE Woodward at SE 26th looking west. I have seen and looked at this photo many times over the years and just today noticed the people ⛷️

January 11, 2017

A snowy neighborhood scene with parked cars, trees, houses, and people with fresh snow all around.

@anniegreens Oh my, this brings back snowpocalypse memories/trauma! I didn’t drive for 9 days. I went stir crazy and posted a lot of guinea pig videos on YouTube.

@jean It was a while ago, but I was probably similarly stuck at home. I think that may have been the one where I walked to New Seasons only to find them closed when I got there. The one that happened in February this year was more upsetting though because we weren’t sufficiently warned and it came down all within half a day.

@anniegreens @jean same day, out my front window. Southwest.

Same day, out my front window. Southwest. A snow covered scene, covered branches, a car, and streets.

@indw @anniegreens @jean That’s beautiful. I can’t wait until it’s my view again.

@anniegreens Oh yes! That February snow was shocking. I was lucky to live above the Green Zebra at that point, so food shopping was doable.

@jean I miss Green Zebra 💔

This is going to make my micro.blog conversation a lovely collection of snow pics!

Here's one from my backyard in the February snow, right when it started to really come down in the late afternoon.

A snowy scene interrupted by graceful branches of a budded magnolia tree, the neighbor's backyard fence with lattice, and a blue house in the background.

@anniegreens It’s good to look at snow pics when the weather gets hot. That is really lovely. One thing about snow is that it can provide some great photography subjects.

I had such a long “relationship” with GZ. They initially said they were going to take over the secondhand store on that site. I was so excited for that. On Twitter they promised me that they were opening in 2014. I knew they shouldn’t have promised that. Instead they waited for the new building, and didn’t open until 2020, right before pandemic. I was a regular, especially once I moved to the new building myself. I had already decided I wasn’t staying in that apartment when the closing was announced. So sad.

@anniegreens I actually purchased a snow shovel earlier this year. I may only need it a couple times per year, but I like being outside in it and I can use the exercise :)
