Early days yet - but iPadOS 13.1 may well have ensured that my MacBook Pro doesn’t get replaced. I think I’m an iPad Pro man here on out.

@adders It is very nice. I've still managed to find a few websites which seems to be delivering mobile versions of their site. I can't wait to use some external storage devices with it :D
@adders It is a very impressive update. I’ve actually had to create a page in Notes to track all the new features I want to make use of.
It still can’t replace my MBP unfortunately because of software development and some finance software that remain handicapped on iOS. But I am delighted to continue to expand iPad usage.
@adders I am excited to try it. I also ordered a replacement back cover for my 10.5". (The cover finally cracked near the power button.)
Spending $12 on a cover instead of $$$$ to upgrade to the latest--I barely recognize myself. But I'm still quite happy with this Pro. And Touch ID.
@macgenie Yup. I'm still rocking an original 9.7 Pro and a second gen 12 Pro (so, still TouchID, too). I’ve made a philosophical, financial and environmental decision to use my tech into the ground, rather than swap out functional tech for new shinies.
Took a bit of adjusting, but it feels better the longer I do it.
@adders I also made a similar decision. It feels pretty good. And when these things die, I’ll reach out for used devices a few years behind the curve. I’m definitely more aware of low-grade conspicuous consumption in techland and I’m a little ashamed of my past self.
@adders Yeah, my MBP has been 100% stationary for several months as all work away from my desk is handled with iPad Pro. Its being used more and more for everyday work.
@adders Does this mean no Mac/desktop/laptop at all? Or that you can do everything on the Pro? What size Pro do you have?
@MitchWagner No - my plan is to have an iMac at home, and use my Pro on the go. I have an original 9.7 and 2nd gen 12 iPad Pro at the moment.
