I’ve released a minor version of the Paper theme today. It adds support to include Mastodon and LinkedIn to your social profile links in the header. If you are already using it, you should see the upgrade option in the Micro.blog plugins directory. Demo on my test blog.

@jeffperry @cygnoir I have added an option to include Mastodon in the social links with Paper theme. Upgrade should be available in the plugins directory.

@maique Do you see the new settings (for mastodon)? Have you applied them? Are your custom modifications in layouts/partials/header.html?

@amit Thank you so much! One bug: The icons aren’t visible on mobile (testing on Safari).

@maique Yep that’s the simplest way I believe.

@uncertainquark That’s my design, to keep the design clean. I would love to introduce some element to put these icons under. But don’t want to overdo it :)

@amit @jeffperry Thank you! Do these links have rel=me attributes, by chance? I’m trying to verify my website on my Mastodon profile.

@amit Neat upgrade; the Mastodon profile verification worked perfectly, thank you!

I did notice though that with every update of the Paper theme, it kept resetting the user-checked setting of ā€œDisplay full post content on Homepageā€ to unchecked.

@uncertainquark Thank you, good to hear that. I wish I could prevent the setting being reset during upgrade. But I believe that’s the way Micro.blog works currently. // cc @manton

@amit This is something we need to fix… It’s not suppose to work that way, so I consider it more of a bug than anything.

@amit Hi Amit. I an using the Paper theme and I have a feedback: there are 2 posts in my blog; the first one shows … at the end to indicate that itĀ“s a long post; the second one shows the text part of the post but not the photos (OK, my option) but it does not show the … at the end of the text, the reader may not understand that the photos are hidden and a click on the post is necessary to see them.

@mdalves Thank you Marcos. Yeah, currently this is a known behavior, mainly with the underlying platform Hugo. It ignores images while truncating the post content and hence doesn’t add ... for posts shorter than 300 characters. You can display the full content of the posts on the homepage though by enabling a setting for the theme. That way it will show the images too.

@amit I understand it. But, by enabling the display of full content, all the photos of the post will be shown on the home page, right? I think it’s only OK when the post has a single photo.
I am new to blogging and to micro.blog, I don’t know what is the best practice for posting multiple images. In my view, showing many photos on the home page is disturbing. Thanks.
