With Micro.blog simplifying newsletters, many folks that I already interact with have enabled the option. If I haven’t subscribed to you, know that I am already closely following you on the platform and via RSS. I am an active community member, I hardly miss anything you say 😊

@pratik Yeah, as I saw more and more people with the subscribe link, I had to put the thought out. I guess all should be making this decision. RSS vs E-mail :-)

@amit RSS is a feature for power users, but everybody knows how to receive email.
I am firmly in the RSS camp and even use Kill the Newsletter! to convert newsletters into a feed.

@jeroensangers I think everyone knows how to receive emails, but email fatigue is equally and unfortunately true. I can see why RSS doesn’t catch up with mainstream, it’s an additional service people need to go to which may not fly with all.

@amit Haha! Yes, I too want to make those sentiments clear because with newsletters, you can now see who is following you and who is not. With that comes the pressure of social media. I do follow a lot of people that I subscribed to so might unsubscribe later but still follow them. Hence I’m not John-Philpin-ing my timeline.

@pratik Hah! Exactly. That’s a new problem for the platform. The social media pressure is real, and so is the email fatigue. Sigh
