@adamprocter Yes, but only as long as the post does not exist in any other feeds on your account.

@help I assume then I would need to remove them from my main feed too then but how do I do that?

@adamprocter Instead of removing them from the main feed, just remove the main feed from your Micro.blog account. The feed will still be there if someone wants to subscribe, but it won't be used for the Micro.blog timeline or cross-posting.

@help ok I am totally confused but i don’t want to remove anything from the micro.blog timeline so I’ll leave well alone and tidy up some of my feeds

@help @adamprocter this is helpful! I think I hit this exact same thing. I've now removed my "main" feed and will experiment. What I'm trying to accomplish is that I add LinkedIn or Twitter tags to cross post. Sounds like adding both won't work, since the post is in two feeds?

@boris yes I started with wanting to cross post to linked in from LinkedIn category but I did also want them not to be on my main feed so I think I hit the same issue with twitter and phd catergory.

@adamprocter OK, well it looks like it is working for me. Delete your "main" feed and you should be able to selectively use category feeds to cross-post. But you can't cross the streams! :)

@boris thanks. Got it. I think I want everything on my main feed so doesn’t work for my use case.

@adamprocter everything still posts (here to the timeline) to your main feed AFAICT, and people can subscribe to the feed -- it just isn't a "source" for cross posting. Also, you can just add the feed back in to the feeds page. But yeah, this is all a bit tricky.

@boris @adamprocter Don’t "cross the streams" is exactly the right way to think about it. 🙂 I hope to solve this eventually, but for now Micro.blog just gets confused if the same post appears in more than 1 feed on your account.
