@adamprocter Despite what I said, it was re-enabled again. If you haven't disabled it, feel free to do that now and it really won't come back.
@help hey there. I got an email this morning saying that mastodon support had been enabled for my account. The email explained that I could opt-out of this through settings.
A few notes:
- I'm unable to disable this feature as far as I can tell. It just doesn't work.
- Having a broadcast feature be opt-out rather than opt-in is really not how consent works. While it is a common pattern in the tech community, I have always liked that micro.blog sought to be different from the norm and do better by folks.
@eli Did you click the Reset button in Account → View Mastodon Details? Looks like it’s off. I did think about the opt-in… We waited 4 years to enable it, and I think it’s time because it’s increasingly a core feature.
@help I sent you an email about this, but I keep trying to delete older posts on sightlessscribbles.micro.blog and they keep appearing again, even hours later! Is there a setting that will allow me to delete posts in bulk? I'd like to delete all posts except for the 2 most recent posts. The bigger issue is posts never staying deleted, even after I delete them! I have an RSS feed set to import posts but I thought that would only import the newer posts. I actually didn't want my old posts imported. Is there a setting to clear all old blog posts?
