To replace my main computer I used to need to double 2 out of 3 of

  • ‘HARD DRIVE’
  • ‘RAM’
  • ‘CLOCK SPEED’

before I even thought ‘replacement’.

The Mac I want has same RAM and Hard Drive as my current Mac

I guess I need to develop some new gating logic!

Any ideas?

I bought my first Mac 20 years ago ( I couldn’t wait for the iPod to work with Windoze ).

I now have 4 old Macs sitting in the closet. My current Mac is dated 'mid 2014'.

This means that my first 4 Macs gave me around three years each.

This one has been with me since June 2015 - over double - and I STILL can't apply my old replacement rule!

@JohnPhilpin I mainly went to just double the HD but with the m1 macs I think I could improve all 3 now. But I don’t think I want or am able to spend that kind of money

@Pilchuck so you know what I’m thinking!

Everything I hear says ‘go’.

The odd thing is that how the ‘numbers’ on that chip seem to be different to what I’m used to.
