I remember disagreeing with @adamprocter during the last World Cup re: VAR in football.

Turns out he was right and I was wrong. The technology and the system in which it exists might be a good idea in theory but it is a long way from being ready, if it ever will be.

@simonwoods and it’s use has gotten worse as this simple rule is never followed

VAR can be used to overturn a subjective decision if a ”clear and obvious error" has been identified.

Having purchased sky sports and bt sport to help me deal with being stuck at home, it seems every goal , every offside is reviewed and then in the FA Cup final nothing seemed to be reviewed (I assumed they forgot to turn it on!) 🤦🏻‍♂️

And thus I am still very much anti VAR.

@adamprocter The only real positive I can see from it is that it has shone a light on the many ways in which the infrastructure of the sport remains woefully inadequate across the board; from officiating (which I think in England wasn't even a full-time job until recently), to the obvious issues of inequality throughout the leagues, and so on.
