The atmosphere is the ecosystem of apps and services built around Bluesky and the AT Protocol. Micro.blog supports the AT Protocol directly, without needing an external bridge. Micro.blog can:
- Copy your posts to Bluesky
- Follow Bluesky users
- Retrieve replies to your blog posts from Bluesky
- Send your replies back to Bluesky users
- Configure your blog domain name to use on Bluesky
Micro.blog converts Markdown into Bluesky inline links and formatted text. Longer blog posts are automatically truncated, including a summary if set, and linked back to your blog post. Post in one place, to your blog, and let Micro.blog handle sending a copy to other platforms.
Bluesky uses domain names for usernames. When you follow a domain name in Micro.blog, Micro.blog will gather Bluesky posts and blog posts from that domain name.
Configuring your own blog's domain name to use on Bluesky is automatic with Micro.blog. Sign in to Bluesky from Micro.blog and it will add the necessary configuration file so that Bluesky can verify your domain name.
