@ablerism I’m such a crank about this I observe a pretty strict No Slop rule in all my feeds. Applies to every media, it’s an instant unfollow, hide, block, see less, whatever option the platform gives. I barely see AI images anymore. Text is obviously harder to notice, but if I find it I’m out.

@ablerism I would think that I ought to email the author, because (as I’d tell myself, and rightly) it’s better that they hear it than only lose the subscriber. But the thought of actually having to write a sufficiently polite and positive email to a complete stranger would exhaust me, and so I likely wouldn’t follow through. I’d hang around a few more months feeling vaguely guilty about it, and then get annoyed and unsubscribe.

This is, obviously, not advice. Just taking your question literally. :)

@dwalbert I was asking it literally, and this is exactly the script I’d also tend to follow. I dislike the gesture without explanation, but the pitfalls of explanation are so many…
