Clicker press on my workbench! Dad came over to assist with lifting it (150lbs).

@aa I hadn’t heard of that one. So it’s a cutting tool?

@jabel yep, part of that process. It applies pressure to a die placed on the leather, cutting the leather to the shape of the die.

@aa Oh wow, what an awesome upgrade! Do you have to order your dies?

@gregmoore yep, all custom based on parts I cut out for my top sellers. Will be a massive time saver! They are being made now by a company in Texas.

@gregmoore still in a bit of disbelief at how it seemed to click last year. Reinvested a lot back into it to I can be more efficient this year while fulfilling additional orders. Refocusing my product line a bit too based on what sold so well last year. And, if I can get my act together, would like to attend a craft fair or two this year.

@aa Getting yourself where people can meet you in person can work wonders. A place I used to live had two leather smiths that showed up to the farmers market. I later found out from a connected friend that the one who hid at the back of the tent never did as well as the one who didn’t seem to sell as much but answered questions and made connections. Apparently, they got a lot more commissioned work than market sales.

@aa Having a booth can lead to lots of good things. Also as @gregmoore suggested, check out farmer's markets, Christmas markets, and places like local wineries that host events and often want excellent makers at their event. You can also make some great connections if a fundraiser is involved; donating something for a raffle for example. And make sure you have plenty of cards/brochures/flyers to hand out with your website printed on them. Tactile people like tactile things :-D We have a family friend who sewed, who did very well at craft fairs, mostly selling a few products that made excellent and affordable gifts -- feasible impulse buys. (She created other things, but for her booth focused on those few items.)

@aa Best description ever, @annahavron. "Feasible impulse buys" is exactly what people are looking for at events.

@gregmoore @annahavron I’m excited at the idea of getting in-front of folks at events. The list can go on and on for the various shows I can attend but for this year I am planning to attend a popular Labor Day craft fair and then a fairly popular Christmas market in my area. Will continue to branch from there.
