I am currently working to make several positive changes/improvements in my life, one of them is being thankful for each and every season we have, especially the cold winter months approaching. I want to appreciate the uniqueness each season has to offer.

@aa I took seasons for granted for decades and am now on that same journey. Really enjoying the peculiarities of each part of the year.

@aa wonderful, and I hope you share your observations. What I'm liking right now about colder weather: I get to wear my favorite wool pullover again - I get to light a candle when I do my morning journaling because it's cold and dark outside - I can see Orion constellation really well.

@aa Great exercise and thanks for sharing this now, I struggle with the winter months because of the lack of light and associating them to a bad time in my life, I'm now trying to appreciate them too.

@toddgrotenhuis Decades here as-well, at least 2. Only ever happy during the summer. Our summer season is the shortest though (maybe 2.5 months, in my opinioin) so that left me grumpy and discontent for a large majority of the year. Took a while, but I realize now how unnecessary that is. Is Winter your next season to enjoy?

@annahavron I will! I love the lit candle while journaling idea, sounds wonderful! Consistently rising earlier is also on my list (to get back to...), there is something special about those dark mornings, watching the light change as the sun rises. Seeing a constellation, now that is impressive! My memory is a bit foggy but I believe I have seen Mars and Jupiter in the early mornings.

@Portufraise I'm with you 100% on the lack of light, that may be the toughest part of Winter. I definitely start to feel a tad stir-crazy by the time February rolls around. Hope you are able to keep your head up!

@aa I am right there with you. Living in the sub-tropics for so many decades boiled my seasonal appreciation down to checking if I’d be sweaty and gross by the end of the day or not. Since I’ve moved to where seasons actually occur again, it’s renewed my awe in their changes.
