WDIBI I: Programming should be fun : blog.timokoola.com
@tkoola I’m with you - a passion for something leads to creativity with soul. And with the passion comes feelings of fun and belonging. Passionate programmers unite. :)
@a_seagull_story passion is a double-edged sword. It comes with higher highs but also it is easy to get burnt out in a job one feels passionate about
@tkoola The passion is not the problem. Burnout points to a failing in the job role and the way a business is run. Take away the pressure, exploitation and burden and there will be no burnout.
@tkoola You raise a good point Timo. Employers should recognise people who are driven by passion in their work and ensure they don’t take advantage of the extra commitment shown. Passionate workers are valuable - they should be trusted to drive things but also nurtured and given support so they aren’t overburdened.
