For folks who have been actively using Threads, are we at the point where we need URL shorteners again? We’ve largely not had to think about this with most social networks after Twitter started with t.co URLs, but it seems that Threads does care about the URL length.

@Infoseepage I was thinking a shortener at someone’s own domain too. Agree that centralizing shorteners can be fragile.

@mcg I just meant that the full URL length is taken into account when writing a post. Although they do track clicks too.

@manton Have you seen the links Microsoft creates for Teams and Sharepoint? They are like a full page long sometimes, not making this up.
