@vasta @mal I don't see the posts. Were they in the timeline or on a web site? If just in the timeline, sometimes a feed is accidentally added to someone else's account, so just want to understand if it was intentional or not. Thanks!

@help (Forgot about underscores in URLs in replies! Either way, I saved it to the Archive.)
@vasta I think @simonwoods is right that these are "reposts" that are quoting the whole blog post instead of just including a link or excerpt. Possibly @mal is still experimenting with the formatting. I agree it's misleading to readers.
@vasta Ah! Will check on my laptop in a Adblock-free browser. BTW has happened to me during my blogging days. In malice and in ignorance. Hope he realizes his folly.
@vasta I see it now on the laptop including your comment on that post. He's basically scraping your full-text feed and reposting it. Since I don't see ads on that site, I think he may be thinking of this as some kind of aggregator and is unaware that he is not supposed to do this. As someone who ran a manually-curated filter blog before, this is easily fixable even with a auto-running script. He simply has to pull in an excerpt instead of the full-text. I hope he fixes this soon. Let me know if you see an email ID that I too can write at.
@pratik @hjertnes Not scraping exactly... He is probably clicking "repost" in his software because he likes @vasta's post. It should include just a link or excerpt, but that's more of a design bug. (I've mentioned this in the IndieWeb chat too so that it can be worked into the guidelines for reposting.)
@manton Ah! so it's more of a design bug in the tool that he seems to have developed. This will not end well for his project if he doesn't address it soon.
@pratik @vasta I am sure @mal will work on the project. He is a good person who created his software ihazawebsite and gives it out free to the world. No malintent was intended on Malcom's part, the software is quite new, just days old. I am sure @mal appreciates the design feedback and he will improve reposting.
@manton I still think it is shitty to re-post with the entire content like that, and even worse when the site design doesn't make it very clear that this is a re-post.
@hjertnes Hey all just a reminder of the Community Guidelines: help.micro.blog/2017/comm... I am not sure personal attacks best way to improve @mal's design of a repost
Let's strive for intentionally hospitable criticism. Dogpiling isn't a practice we should import from elsewhere.
