@numericcitizen just been reading your newsletter … which looks like is delivered via microblog. Is that right? If so, @mantion seems to have substantially moved the ball forward in terms of what can be done in that world. Kudos to both of you.

I am curious on making it available on Craft. Nice idea ,, but how much time goes into making that happen .. copy and paste / export only? Or is their additional formatting and time?

@JohnPhilpin the newsletters (email) goes out from Ghost, the hosting service of my main blog. The Craft version is actually where the edits happens. So, it's not a problem. But, to put it on Ghost, I export the Craft content into Ulysses, then do some tweaking (less than 15 min of works) and hope it goes!

@numericcitizen What are you doing about the address requirement for newsletters with Ghost? Buttondown includes a scan-lettermail service so you get a physical address (in Nevada, I think) you can add at the bottom of the newsletter to comply with CAN-SPAM laws but Ghost(Pro) doesn’t. Not loving the idea of having to rent a Post Office Box. 😕

@AngeloStavrow Well, good question. Do I fit in the "commercial" category? Does it apply to individual bloggers? I wasn't paying too much attention to that. Also, does it apply for people who voluntarly subscribe to the newsletter?

@numericcitizen In your latest issue you provided a referral link to Glass so that people could get "a small rebate". I wonder if things that we might consider non-transactional would in fact be defined as such under the law?

The main concern I have is that it wouldn't be too difficult to take anything I've published in a newsletter and make it fit the definition, and thus be immediately entangled in the law. It's just not worth my time, especially when Justin Duke provides an address for free and his service is so good. // @AngeloStavrow

@numericcitizen That’s a good question. In my case, it is commercial in nature, and AFAIK it doesn’t matter if it’s opt-in or opt-out. I’ll just eat the costs of the P.O. Box, I guess.

(At Two Common Cents Club only paid subscribers can get posts via email, and even then they have to actively enable the setting.)

@numericcitizen thankyou ... 19 minutes - 4 minutes longer than the process itself 😂 ... saved for later - to watch from the comfort of my couch.

@JohnPhilpin the weekly newsletter comes from Ghost. But I do have a newsletter configured for MB (https://blog.numericcitizen.me/newsletters/) which creates posts digest, each month.
