Did a quick YouTube live streaming test. Seems to work as advertised. Resubscribed to Ecamm Live too, which has been helpful in past years to coordinate streaming files.
@manton Will the live chat be on the same platform as earlier, or do we have to sign up for a new one?
@odd Not the same. We’re going to enable the chat on help.micro.blog. That way there’s nothing to sign up for because it uses your Micro.blog account.
@SimonWoods I was asking Manton about it, because I wouldn’t like to have to sign up for something at the last minute, but this is just perfect, and should just work.
@odd Yep, I think it's a good decision. As much as I love the idea of embracing smaller, independent companies, there isn't any point if the tools don't work. Hopefully the indie alternatives will be able to make further improvements with each Micro Camp so that eventually they can be relied upon for the event.
