Wondering how long before Twitter will stop letting RSS readers use the Twitter API.
@brentsimmons I wish they would so I’d have an excuse to be fully done with them.
@brentsimmons With zero bookmarking options in the official app, RSS is the only thing left letting me properly follow my List feeds. Hoping #SpaceKaren doesn’t view RSS as doing what the new API rule prohibits.
@brentsimmons He's probably forgotten that feature even exists.
@SimonWoods RSS readers use the Twitter API, just like the client apps, since Twitter dropped its RSS feeds something like 10 years ago.
@brentsimmons I’ve been concerned about this as well. I use feedbin to follow a few sports writers from twitter as it’s the only place they publish.
@brentsimmons I was thinking about this… I bet they cut off the timeline access. Maybe you can still do lists and other things but I would think the API is still valuable for people who pay to promote things on Twitter.
@brentsimmons fingers crossed because I just moved everything I still want to follow to Feedbin.
@brentsimmons it’s the only thing I still use on Twitter. Feeding some people that are not on Mastodon yet into my Readwise via RSS. If that stops, it’s the end of Twitter for me.
