@aa In a similar situation with the Apple Watch. I now use it mostly to sleep. As far as the phone, I started getting only a few notifications a while back, and that is still what I'm doing. It does help.
@maique yep, its the constant nagging or constant feeling of "I need to check something" or really just the constant access to things that has become oh so exhausting. I'm good to not know (how well I've slept or not), I'm good to write a thought in my notebook to research later, I'm good to check email later, etc. And the watch stuff is nice to get into again, I'm going back through all of the recommendations that were given to me here on m.b as I look to get a few more watches.
@aa Yes, worthwhile! I've never had a 'smart' watch. Right now I carry a Light Phone, and keep my smart phone, without sim card, by the bedside, mostly to play a few puzzle games that I'm fond of. Someday the smart phone will fail, and then I'll be faced with a sad situation: I don't think I'm going to buy a new smart phone just to do some puzzles, so...
@aa The more I reduce the number of apps and notifications allowed on my phone, the more I want an Apple Watch again.
@aa Nothing to add except that I, too, don't expect to replace my Apple Watch when it peters out, nor will I get some other smart watch.
@gregmoore I'm tired of all of it at this point :-) A lot of me is longing for the simpler days of not being so connected.
