Holy Cow!!! 2million acres?

The University of Texas' endowment has grown to $42.3 billion — and it can thank oil and natural gas royalties from the more than 2 million acres of land it owns in West Texas for the boost.

@pratik Wow, that went up as a separate building after my undergrad time there! Beautiful! If I wanted to see art, I had to go to the Ransom Ctr.... If I go back to Austin / UT campus I'm sure I'll feel like Rip Van Winkle.

@annahavron How long has it been? Plenty of construction going on now especially around Blanton. Even the area around the Capitol & Bullock Museum will be unrecognizable in a few months.

@pratik Let's just say that my favorite new album that came out during my undergrad years was Kate Bush's Hounds of Love...

@pratik Last time I was in Austin was in 2000. So, I definitely won't recognize anything around campus. Is Guadalupe St. still the grad student drag that it used to be? @annahavron

@parag Whoa! Gonna be quite a shock then. It’s changed a lot in the last eight years we have lived here. Guadalupe is still bustling with students but lot of high rises for student housing. But grad students seemed to have moved further away from campus @annahavron

@pratik ....and there were some Matthew Modine movies that were big...

ha! I gotta say, since I'm too wimpy to watch that show, it took me awhile to figure out why I was hearing "Running Up That Hill (A Deal with God)" from sources other than my playlist...

@pratik I lived in the long-gone women's co-ops, on the campus. Entirely run by students.

@terrygrier no serious plans to do so, esp since we have to travel to see the kids now, but I do appreciate the kind invitation.
