Number of times I have taken my kids to -

Disney : 1
Universal : 1
Acadia National park : 11

Can you guess where we might vacation this summer?

@parag We have to revisit Acadia with R soon. That reminds me we have never taken him to Disney or Universal. But have taken him to 10+ NPs. Are we bad parents?

@parag We were just at Acadia last week. Really liked it, but would like to return again when it is warmer.

@pratik not bad parents at all! Different people different priorities. You are doing well in my books. 😄 Our reason for those amusement park trips was to avoid these topics coming up their therapy sessions in the future.

@parag Whats the nearest airport to fly into? We have been trying to plan this for years, but flying into Bangor is expensive, and I am. not a fan of 5+ hours of driving after flying in somewhere lol.

@supremus flying into Portland, ME might be easier. It will only be about 2 hour drive to Acadia. There is also a small airport in Trenton, a town next to the park. You can fly in your private jet there. 😄

@parag oh didn't think of Portland at all. Good call. How many days do you estimate would it take to see the park?

@supremus From my experience, it is a good idea to spend a week on this trip. The houses (VRBO or AirBnB) in that area usually require a week’s rental from Saturday to Saturday. I like renting these because you can take care of breakfast and make sandwiches for lunch in the house and go to Bar Harbor restaurants for dinner. Some days make dinner as well if needed. Also there is flexibility of staying in if the weather becomes a problem. There is plenty to do in the park in terms of hiking, biking, and just chilling on the rocks along the shore admiring the waves crashing into the rocky coast. I’ll help you with an itinerary when you are planing to go.
