Was just recalling, when I was a kid, we found a reel to reel tape player and a box of tapes. Among them was Duke Ellington and Louis Armstormg. Lots of classical music. My Dad got me a few blanks tapes at Radio Shack to record from the radio

@hawaiiboy My dad has a reel tape player, and has had it in for repair for months now, (it’s a guy he knows). I know there’s a recording of little Odd, about 10yo on the National Radio on one of those reels.
@odd @hawaiiboy My uncle (who was like a grandfather to me) was into reel tapes and old LPs. He had so many of them with Indian Classical music. I tried to save some of his collection but most of it was lost after he passed away and my cousins were not interested in saving that stuff.
@odd good stuff. That player and those tapes are long gone. I don’t think they made the move to Hawaii Island
@hawaiiboy very timely cassette players
@Parag That’s a shame. Probably many gems in there, own recordings maybe even! I hope my father will get his in working order soon. I listened to hours upon hours on it, before I developed my own taste for music.
@Parag my dad collected so many of his movie memories from music that was available online in mid-2000s as .rtmp files on CD-Rs that he found available via streaming on sites that were streaming 50s vinyl. Same with Westerns that he torrented, which he'd watched in theaters as a young man.
