@help Is there a way I can set my timeline to see every post on micro.blog, like the local timeline on a masto instance? Or would that be too insanely high volume and blow the top of my head off?

@MitchW does account settings allow that?

@MitchW though it doesn’t include the mastodon world … unless you are specifically following.

@JohnPhilpin Hmm.... I have it set that way but I'm still not seeing as many posts as I thought I would. I thought there might be another setting.

And understood re: not including Mastodon.

@MitchW ‘feels like there should be more’ is kind of a function of how many people you think are posting and how often.

Back of a fag packet …

  • say an average post rate is 2 per day
  • say 10,000 accounts
  • say 10% of them are in the ‘average’ usage

New posts per day 2,000

Yeah, we seem to be missing some.

@JohnPhilpin @MitchW You still have to follow EVERYONE for that option to see everything they post and reply. I think only @jean and @manton can see that firehose. I recall them saying there can be lot of spam in that feed which they filter out.

@pratik Oh, I see! Thanks. I'd like to see the firehose but if it's got a lot of spam in it then maybe not.

@MitchW I seem to recall something like that aswell now that @pratik mentions it.

Suggests that the naming option in that image I shared needs some additional clarification
