Found a Puriri moth on the side of the road on my morning walk today. Picked it up, thinking it was dead, but after ten or so paces it started moving in my hand. Wish I’d got a photo of me holding it (they’re huge!), but here it is in the pohutukawa I popped it on.

@herself Fabulous! I found something like that once at the top of Mt Vic. Searching my photo album has failed to turn up the photo though. 😒

@macgenie it was the same feeling as when a hermit crab starts to emerge on the palm of your hand—sort of tickly, but creepy too. I put it down fairly fast after that! 😅
