@Miraz Oh, and a guide told us that Tāne Mahuta is the tallest kauri in the forest but not the oldest at 2,000 years. The oldest is 2,500 to 3,000 years old but squatter. Next trip we'll visit that one. Also, apparently about 100 species live in that canopy way up there, including a couple more mini-sized kauri trees!
