Usability question.

Going forward - for posts like this .. do I need the line

blah blah blah (click on the image to listen)

or is it clear that the image is clickable?

(Personally I would like the Overcast peeps to add one of those little 'play buttons' on the image they provide when you slice out some audio )

BUT - until then ... what do you all think?

@JohnPhilpin I think for me, if I mouse over the image and see the cursor become a hand, I know that it's clickable. So I don't think you need the "click the image" copy. That said, I do tend to know clips from Overcast are clickable anyway so not sure I'm super representative of other visitors.

@JohnPhilpin I think as it stands there's lots of scope for ambiguity and confusion. It looks like an image not an audio clip, plus it contains text that might appear to represent the point you're making. A hand cursor could lead one to a larger image. It's not clear that it's an audio clip. I'd suggest clear text that includes an approximate duration for the clip — something like "click the image to hear a 15 second audio clip".

@JohnPhilpin Not apparent. If there was a giant grey play icon on top of it (like YouTube) then maybe.

@pratik like this - which is how i did it with SNIPD - but that was me editing the image - and not 'easily' done, so trying to avoid - sounds like I will still need the 'caption'.

Thankyou - and to @miraz - who said pretty much the same thing.

@JohnPhilpin @miraz much better although I wish it started playing in-page.

@pratik yes agreed .. not sure what I need to do to get it to play in page … exploration time.
