Kagi’s Small Web has added categories:

Finding great Small Web content that scratches your browsing itch can feel overwhelming, especially when the feed is a single stream that tumbles through over 30,000 featured sites. That’s why we’ve introduced categories, curated groups of topics that let you dive into the corners of the Small Web that interest you most.

The site list is available as a simple text file, but I haven’t seen if the categories are published anywhere yet.

There’s also a new Small Web iOS app too! 😊

@thisness Oh sorry, I meant I haven’t seen the categories published in an open format for other people to steal. 🙂 I need to check out the iOS app!

@manton do you use Kagi as your search engine? I do and really really like it!

@lukebouch Yep, Kagi is my default now. It’s great.

@manton — if you’d like what they’re doing with search, check out their web browser, Orion.

@Magi I haven’t tried their browser yet but I should.

@Magi I’m currently using Orion on my iPhone. Sticking with Dia on the Mac for now.

@manton — curious — what inspires you to stick with Dia?

@Magi It just feels right to me. Not sure if I can pinpoint any one thing. And because it’s Chromium it does tend to work everywhere. I almost never use the AI features except by accident.

@manton what is difference between Google and Kagi? I believe Kagi is a search engine, right?

@manton Maybe a Micro.blog template plugin for a “Kagi smallweb ring thingy” would be cool? My interest is piqued.
